Reason 4 released

Reason4_screenshot_short

Propellerhead's much anticipated release of Reason 4 is finally here. Sporting a brand new sequencer (at last!), a new groove tool, new arpeggiator, and Thor, their new multi-synthesis synth which looks pretty amazing. Can't wait to get our hands on a copy which will be any day now. The retail price remains the same at $699, though we expect we will be selling it for around $599. Instore next week.

Apple Logic Express 8

Lg_ma806z

Last week we mentioned the release of Logic Studio. This week we received Logic Express 8 which is a cheaper version of it's big brother. It too has had a massive price cut and is now only $268 (compared with version 7's price of $499). Although it's a lot cheaper than Logic Studio, there are not very many differences between them, with Express missing out on surround sound, distributed audio, high-end control surface support and TDM support. Of course, Logic Studio includes other pro software such as Soundtrack 2, MainStage, Compressor 3 and others. If you just need Logic, though, then the Express version is a really viable option.

Native Instruments Battery 3 & Massive back in stock

Lg_11459

2 of our most popular software instruments, we've just received another shipment of Battery 3 & Massive. Battery 3 is an immensely powerful drum/percussion sampler that ships with 12GB of samples organised into over 100 drum kits. Massive is a monster of a software synth, capable of some really amazing sounds, from grinding, dirty electro through to really sweet pads. Used by producers like Booka Shade, Junkie XL, Robbie Rivera and T.Raumschmiere, it's both powerful and easy to use. Almost every person I've demo'd this to has bought it or plans to buy it.

$110 off KRK Rokit Subwoofer

We've bought a bunch of the awesome KRK Rokit 10" subwoofers so we can knock a few dollars off the price for you. Did I say a few dollars? How about $110! If you already own a pair of the Rokit series monitors, then you know how good they sound. Now imagine adding 225W of sub power into the mix! Not only will you get better bass, you'll see an overall improvement in sound as your main speakers won't have to work as hard, so you'll get less distortion. If you're in Sydney and you'd like to test them out, drop in to the store to see just how much of a difference they make. If you're not in Sydney, we'll ship this out to you at no extra charge!

We'll start to add some of the latest releases from them over the next week or so, and we'll be adding back catalogue from them over the coming months.

Digital Downloads Update

A lot of you have been asking us when we'll be getting more digital content onto the website, so we thought we should let you know how it's progressing.

The short answer is we have a lot of content on the way, but it's taking a lot longer than we would have liked. It's a very complicated process to get digital content, both technically as well as from an administrative point of view. We currently have about 6 contracts in the pipeline, representing a huge number of labels and artists, and we expect that over the next couple of months we will have the bulk of it online.

To whet your appetite a little, here are just some of the labels that we expect to be online in the next few weeks, with more to follow:

  • Get Physical
  • Great Stuff
  • Superstar
  • Punx
  • Moon Harbour
  • Stereo Deluxe
  • Neopren
  • Red Leather
  • Peppermint Jam
  • ...and more!

Stay tuned!
