Maschine 1.5 Public Beta in progress!

The Public Beta testing phase for the widely anticipated version 1.5 maintenance update for Maschine is in full swing and anyone owning a Maschine license can take part in the testing. Now if you are pale and sickly from sitting in a dark sunless room for days on end, fingertips bleeding, then that means you so check it out.

New and improved features include:

• MIDI Export function for Maschine Patterns in Maschine.

• Drag and Drop Maschine Patterns as MIDI parts directly into Host application tracks.

• Performance page with eight assignable 'Macro Controls' per Group.

• Host Automation support.

• Support for MIDI Continuous Controller and Pitchbend.

• Akai MPC Program file import (500/1000/2000(XL)/2500/3000/4000 models).

• Save Audio Files with Project function copies all project-related files into one folder. 

• Enhanced slicing with editable markers and new 'split' mode.

• Destructive audio editing with Trim, Normalize, Copy/Paste, DC Offset correction, Fade In/Out.

• New Project default preferences and provision for a user-created template Maschine project.

• New vintage sound engine modes emulate MPC60 and SP1200 output stages for added crunch!

• 16 Velocity Levels mode for controller.

• New effect algorithm added: Grain Stretch.

• New 'Add to Sample Map' function in browser allows rapid building of layered kick drums, snares, etc.

• New 'Copy Sound without Note Events' option.

• Adjustable polyphony limit per Sound.

• Software based, Direct Monitoring function for audio interface inputs when using the Sampling function (great for audio interfaces lacking hardware based Direct Monitoring of inputs).

• Improved Event Editing via hardware controller. 

• Improved Waveform navigation in Sampling mode via controller (Zooming/Panning via the Encoders on the control surface).

• Various other enhancements including further optimisations.

One of the key improvements here allows the user to record the pad input i.e. your playing, directly into your DAW as it's own MIDI track, this was a slightly overlooked possibility that has now been integrated in the 1.5 update. There is also the ability to import REX files for all you loop junkies and Reason affiliates.
